About Ed and Rob
Award-winning children's book author, Ed Shankman, and his cousin, Robert Gordon, first began writing their electrifying literary novel, The Backstage Man, in 1981. They've spent the three and half decades since coaxing their initial unbridled inspiration into its current form.
The creative spirit at the heart of the book has shaped the authors' lives. Ed is also a musician and painter. Rob has a master's in creative writing. Both earn their living in the advertising world. This was a book they had to write. A story that demanded to be told.
